About PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil
PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of hydrogenated castor oil containing an average of 60 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 60 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changes in this number can affect water compatibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
