About PEG-60 Glyceryl Diisostearate

PEG-60 Glyceryl Diisostearate is a polyethylene glycol ether of glyceryl diisostearate.[1] The number 60 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number may alter water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
