About PEG-60 Evening Primrose Glycerides

PEG-60 Evening Primrose Glycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of mono- and diglycerides obtained from evening primrose oil, with an average of 60 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 60 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; with the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, they are used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
