About PEG-6 Cocamide
PEG-6 Cocamide is a polyethylene glycol amide of coconut acid.[1] The number 6 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; for the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
