About PEG-44 Castor Oil

PEG-44 Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of castor oil containing an average of 44 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 44 indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number can also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
