About PEG-40 Glyceryl Isostearate

PEG-40 Glyceryl Isostearate is a polyethylene glycol ether of glyceryl isostearate.[1] x+y+z is an average of 40. The number 40 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; with the same base structure, changing this number can also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
