About PEG-35 Stearate
PEG-35 Stearate is the polyethylene glycol ester of stearic acid.[1] The number 35 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; for the same base structure, changing this number can also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
