About PEG-32 Stearate
PEG-32 Stearate is a polyethylene glycol ester of stearic acid.[1] The number 32 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; with the same basic structure, changing this number can affect water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
