PEG-30 Hydrogenated Lanolin is a polyethylene glycol derivative of hydrogenated lanolin with an average of 30 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 30 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and formula viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
