About PEG-30 Castor Oil
PEG-30 Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of castor oil containing an average of 30 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 30 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; for the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to reduce surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
