About PEG-3 Oleamide

PEG-3 Oleamide is a polyethylene glycol amide of oleic acid, with n averaging 3.[1] The number 3 indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number can also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
