About PEG-3 Cocamide DEA

PEG-3 Cocamide DEA is a polyethylene glycol derivative of Cocamide DEA with an average of 3 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 3 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; for the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content in finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
