About PEG-25 Hydrogenated Castor Oil
PEG-25 Hydrogenated Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of hydrogenated castor oil containing an average of 25 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 25 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; with the same base structure, changing this number may also change water compatibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
