About PEG-20 Glyceryl Oleate
PEG-20 Glyceryl Oleate is the polyethylene glycol ether of Glyceryl Oleate.[1] The number 20 indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
