About PEG-2 Sunflower Glycerides

PEG-2 Sunflower Glycerides is a polyethylene glycol derivative of mono- and diglycerides derived from sunflower seed oil, with an average of 2 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 2 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. For the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
