PEG-2 Soyamine is a polyethylene glycol amine of soy acid. R can be described as an alkyl group derived from soy, and the number 2 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may alter water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
