About PEG-2 Cocamide
PEG-2 Cocamide is the polyethylene glycol amide of coconut acid; the RCO- group is primarily derived from fatty acids obtained from coconut oil, and n is an average of 2.[1] The number 2 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. With the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable.[2]
