About PEG-16 Macadamia Glycerides
PEG-16 Macadamia Glycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of mono- and diglycerides derived from macadamia nut oil, with an average of 16 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 16 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; for the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, they are used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
