About PEG-150 Polyglyceryl-2 Tristearate
PEG-150 Polyglyceryl-2 Tristearate is a triester of an ethoxylated glycerin dimer and stearic acid, with an average of 150 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 150 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; with the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and leave the skin feeling soft and smooth.[2]
