About PEG-15 Glyceryl Triisostearate

PEG-15 Glyceryl Triisostearate is the triester of polyethylene glycol ether of isostearic acid and glycerin.[1] The number 15 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may also affect water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create an emulsion in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
