About PEG-15 Cocomonium Methosulfate
PEG-15 Cocomonium Methosulfate is a quaternary ammonium salt in which the R groups are primarily alkyl groups derived from coconut oil, and x+y averages 15.[1] The number 15 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. With the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static that causes hair strands to lift or stick together.[2]
