About PEG-15 Castor Oil
PEG-15 Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of castor oil containing an average of 15 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 15 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to make emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
