About PEG-14 Stearate
PEG-14 Stearate is a polyethylene glycol ester of stearic acid with an average n value of 14.[1] The number 14 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. Within the same base structure, changing this number may alter water compatibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to make emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
