About PEG-12 Dimethicone Crosspolymer
PEG-12 Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a copolymer of PEG-12 Dimethicone cross-linked with C3-20 diene.[1] The number 12 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. With the same base structure, changing this number may also change water compatibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, help keep the formula's condition and properties from changing readily during storage, and adjust viscosity and flow.[2]
