About PEG-11 Castor Oil

PEG-11 Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of castor seed oil with 11 moles of ethylene oxide added.[1] The number 11 in its name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may alter water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended.[2]
