About PEG-10 Stearate
PEG-10 Stearate is the polyethylene glycol ester of stearic acid.[1] The number 10 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same basic structure, changes in this number can alter water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
