About PEG-10 Rapeseed Sterol
PEG-10 Rapeseed Sterol is the polyethylene glycol ether of rapeseed sterol with an average of 10 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 10 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number can also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
