About PEG-10 Castor Oil
PEG-10 Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of castor oil with an average of 10 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 10 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; when the base structure is the same, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
