About Palmitamidopropyl Betaine
Palmitamidopropyl Betaine is a zwitterion (inner salt).[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing.[2] It is also used to reduce tangling and rough feel, leaving hair smooth; condition the skin’s surface, leaving it soft and smooth; and lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
