About Oligopeptide-28
Oligopeptide-28 is a synthetic peptide consisting of 12 amino acids: alanine, arginine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, proline, and serine.[1] The number 28 at the end of the name is only an identifier distinguishing different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used or a ranking of efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, help ingredients in the formulation bind together and maintain its form, and bind metal ions to reduce their effects on color, scent, and formulation stability.[2] It is also used to help protect the skin from external factors.[2]
