About Oleth-3
Oleth-3 is the polyethylene glycol ether of oleyl alcohol.[1] The number 3 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
