About Oleth-106

Oleth-106 is a polyethylene glycol ether of oleyl alcohol.[1] The number 106 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added. It changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing ability, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
