About Octoxynol-70

Octoxynol-70 is an ethoxylated alkylphenol.[1] Its properties and sensory feel in the finished product may vary depending on the concentration, the ingredients used with it, the formulation's acidity, and manufacturing conditions. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended, and reduce surface tension so that raw materials can become wetted, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
