Nylon 6/12 is a polyamide obtained by reacting caprolactam and dodecylactam.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to absorb liquids in the formula, such as water or oil; increase formula volume and adjust the amount of solids; and reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible through the container.[2]
