About Nonoxynol-9
Nonoxynol-9 is an ethoxylated alkyl phenol with an average value of 9.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Korea, it may be used at up to 17.2% in finished cosmetic products.[2]
