About Myristyl/Cetyl Amine Oxide

Myristyl/Cetyl Amine Oxide is an aliphatic amine oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, and smooth hair by reducing tangling and a rough feel.[2] It is also used to help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the water phase and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
