About Montan Cera

Montan Cera is a wax obtained by extraction from lignite.[1] Because it is centered on fatty components obtained from montan wax, it mixes better with oil than water and is suitable for adding slip and a supple feel to skin or hair while reducing the sensation of moisture evaporating quickly. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling together, to help formula ingredients bind and maintain their shape, and to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent.[2] It is also used to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formula.[2]
