About Mipa-C12-14 Sec-Pareth-3 Acetate
Mipa-C12-14 Sec-Pareth-3 Acetate is an ester containing parts derived from an acid and an alcohol.[1] The number 3 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and increase the amount of foam while helping it remain stable.[1] It is also used to help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the water phase, and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[1] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
