Methyl/Phenyl Polysilsesquioxane is a resinous material composed of a mixture of three-dimensional siloxane polymers and cage-structured oligomers.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible through the product and to adjust slip and application feel.[2] In oligomers, each silicon atom of the polysilsesquioxane is connected through oxygen atoms to three other silicon atoms.[1] Its empirical formula is expressed as RSiO3/2, where R is a methyl or phenyl group.[1]
