Methyl Oleate/Palmitate/Linoleate/Stearate is the methyl ester of a mixture of oleic, palmitic, linoleic, and stearic acids.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and to dissolve other raw materials to create a uniform formula.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
