About Methoxy PEG-3 Dehydrocholesteryl Succinate
Methoxy PEG-3 Dehydrocholesteryl Succinate is an ester in which portions derived from an acid and an alcohol are joined.[1] The number 3 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for a smoother finish, and to absorb or reflect ultraviolet radiation to reduce the amount reaching the skin.[1]
