About Methoxy PEG-100/Polyepsilon Caprolactone Palmitate

Methoxy PEG-100/Polyepsilon Caprolactone Palmitate is a block copolymer.[1] The number 100 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changes in this number may affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to buffer the formulation so that its acidity does not change abruptly, to form a thin film on the skin, hair, and nail surfaces after application, and to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smoother grooming.[2] It is also used to hold the desired hair shape in place.[2]
