About Methoxy PEG-10 Polysilsesquioxane
Methoxy PEG-10 Polysilsesquioxane is a siloxane-structured ingredient.[1] The number 10 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; with the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, attract moisture to the formulation and skin surface to help maintain hydration, and condition the skin surface to feel soft and smooth.[1] It is also used to dissolve other ingredients to create a uniform formulation and to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[1]
