Meroxapol 172 is a polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene block polymer in which x, y, and z are 12, 9, and 12 on average, respectively.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
