About Mea-Undecylenate

Mea-Undecylenate is an organic salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water and to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in products, delaying deterioration during storage.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.2% (based on acid content).[2] The secondary amine content of the finished product is also limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
