About Mea-Laureth Sulfate

MEA-Laureth Sulfate is the monoethanolamine salt of ethoxylated lauryl sulfate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and to lower surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
