About Mea-Borate
Mea-Borate is an ester of ethanolamine and boric acid.[1] Its solubility and charge state vary depending on the components forming the salt and the acidity of the formula, which also affects how it interacts with other raw materials. In cosmetics, it is used to buffer the formula so its acidity does not change abruptly.[3] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2]
