About Maltitol
Maltitol is a disaccharide polyol obtained by hydrogenating maltose.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to attract moisture to the formula and skin's surface and help maintain a moisturized feel; to prevent the characteristic odor or taste of raw materials from becoming too pronounced; and to help maintain skin moisture and reduce a dry feeling.[2] It is also used to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
