About Magnesium Propionate
Magnesium Propionate is the magnesium salt of propionic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in products, helping delay quality deterioration and spoilage during storage.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 2% (based on acid content).[2]
