About Lauryl PEG-8 PPG-8 Dimethicone

Lauryl PEG-8 PPG-8 Dimethicone is a terpolymer obtained by reacting hydrogen dimethicone with dodecene, the allyl ether of PEG-8, and the allyl ether of PPG-8.[1] The number 8 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
